Talk about never a dull moment. This Brainy Blonde is full of adventure! From the time she was placed for adoption to the moment twenty years later when she found a book at the library her birthmother had written about giving her up and dedicated to her! In some ways her life is like book, but not your standard Grimm's fairy tale, more along the lines of a Roald Dahl or JK Rowling novel!

Me as a young girl. Want an apple?Ms Brainy was born in Chicago and raised in the Mid West by her incredible parents who adopted her the day after Thanksgiving two months after she was born. She had a relatively normal childhood in which she learned to entertain herself on the computer since she was an only child until eight years old, when her parents adopted her little brother. After going to a local private school through eight grades, she went away to an all girls Catholic boarding school, an experience from which she has many stories! She graduated high school and signed her first modeling contract all by the age of 17. Juggling a career as a model, a full course load, and working for a nonprofit group all while discovering a whole new birth family was no easy feat!

After finding that library book when she was twenty she ventured off to Europe to meet her birthmother who turned out to be a world known anthropologist traveling the planet, making films and writing all sorts of books about her work! That same summer she also went to meet her birthfather who lived in Washington DC, came from a prominent political family in the US, and had also published countless articles and books.

Soon she'd come to discover the whole family were writers: her mother and father (both PhDs), her grandfather (also a PhD), her grandmother, and her uncle, who is a federal judge! She's still ordering more of her birth relatives' books and hopes to complete them all by 2005.

My house after the tornado. That same year she went home to visit her adoptive parents for the holidays. The day after Thanksgiving (21 years to the day after her parents had adopted her) a big twister came along and blew their new, two story home away, leaving nothing but the foundation! Unfortunately, things didn't turn out as well as they did for Dorothy and Toto. Her dog, cat and next door neighbor were killed. She'd left before the storm hit and had no idea her house would be literally gone when she returned. She thought her family had perished, but luckily they'd been delayed at the video store.

After several hours, they all met up on the hill just behind where the house had stood. It was a tearful reunion to say the least. Her mother had even had the Priest come out after the storm! Her mother later said, "twenty one years ago today we got you and twenty one years later we were lucky to get you back again" But enough of the mushiness!

Brainy Blonde refused to join a sorority and considered herself the same geeky girl she'd been in high school, despite the billboards, runway, fashion and print ads, ads she was doing for products such as GTE, Revlon, MTV and General Motors.

She was never really keen on the modeling but the financial rewards were quite nice plus she was marketed as the edgy alternative girl with the wild hair. She also refused to model any fur products and still holds true to that today. She used to add quite a bit of red henna to her hair. Her friends jokingly would call her "I Love Lucy" because of her hair color... ok, and maybe because of her personality too... just a little!

Bro, Mom, Me & DadAfter college, she moved out to Los Angeles where she signed with an agent doing commercial and print work. She also continued her education studying technology and working with some of the pioneers in the computer industry. In fact, one certain technological event landed her on the front of the New York Times and forced her to dodge reporters until this day. She's currently writing a book on that chapter of her life which makes everything since pale in comparison.

After 9/11 occurred, she realized—like most of America—how far she was from her family. Shortly after that fateful day in September, she moved back East to be closer to her relatives. No sooner did she move there that the hurricanes began. In October 2005 she awoke at 6am to a giant 100 year old tree staring her in the face after Hurricane Wilma served as a can-opener on her house. She was almost crushed to death in bed as she slept!

Brainy decided to tough it out, bought another house on the coast (this time a 1950's Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home with fewer trees hanging overtop). She is learning surfing and Spanish (though not at the same time) and doing a bit more traveling around the globe. She's glad you've decided to visit her bio and hope you'll visit back for frequent updates!
